Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Mississippi

Mission

To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as responsible, productive and caring citizens.

Who We Are

Since the 1954, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi have been here for our community serving youth 6 to 18 years of age year-round and giving children a safe place to go after school and during the summer months. Today, our Clubs are still providing great services and programs, and is in a place to do more for Northeast Mississippi than ever before. We have five Clubs serving more than 1,200 youth in Lee, Prentiss, Alcorn, and Tishomingo counties. Boys and Girls Clubs meet the social, physical, and educational needs of children through quality programming.

The Difference We Are Making

The average GPA of members of Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Mississippi is 3.0. Our "Power hour" studies show that children get in trouble in the hours immediately following school. Our supervised "Making Minutes Count" program offers members the opportunity to determine the quality of their time. Youths without quality after-school programs during these hours are far more likely to;

*Become a victim of a violent shooting crime
*Use alcohol, drugs and tobacco
*Receive poor grades and drop out of school
*Become teen parents

Members take part in unique opportunities such as art classes, gardening and culinary courses, proffessional ballroom dance classes, Cal Ripken athletic camps, theatre camps and field trips that they otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience.
