In a world that seems threatening and devoid of promise for many of American’s children, the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Mississippi provides a tangible measure of hope.
The Club offers young people what they need and want most: adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits. All Boys & Girls Club programs are based on a youth development strategy that builds self-confidence and self esteem and fosters a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.
Beginning in Corinth in 1954, the Boys & Girls Clubs have been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances. The Boys & Girls Clubs actively seeks to enrich the lives of girls and boys other youth agencies fail to reach. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi is dedicated to ensuring that our community’s disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.
In the Fall of 2002, the Boys & Girls Club expanded it’s outreach by opening two new units in the neighboring communities of Booneville and Iuka. The organization became the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi. The Club is part of a nationwide affiliation of local, autonomous organizations working to help young people of all backgrounds develop the qualities they need to become responsible citizens and leaders. We offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five Core Program Areas:
- Education and Career Development
- Character and Leadership Development
- Health and Life Skills
- The Arts
- Sports, Fitness and Recreation
Today, more than 1,300 school-age boys and girls are taking advantage of the programs, activities and services provided by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi. They benefit from trained, caring, professional staff and volunteers who help young people take control of their lives, envision productive futures and achieve their goals.

Our Club members enjoy a variety of activities including homework help, tutoring, mentoring, basketball, video gaming, professional ballroom dance lessons, exercise classes, technology discovery through our computer labs, art lessons, civic leadership clubs, entrepreneurship workshops, and self-esteem workshops.
