VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Possibilities Are Endless
Make A Difference Today
Volunteers make a difference in the lives of Boys and Girls members acrss the country each day and specifically here in Northeast Mississippi. Becoming a volunteer does not require complex skills or training. It simply requires a listening ear, guiding principles and the ability to encourage a child never to give up.
Each volunteer is simply required to complete a background screening and training. Following approval, mentors and volunteers work in areas which they are most comfortable and times that are most convenient for their schedules. Examples of how volunteers can help include: tutoring, leading discussions in character development, self-esteem or career discovery, implementing reading programs, talking with youth about healthy lifestyle choices, introducing youth to new opportunities and programs in arts, providing ettiquette training, supplying afternoon snacks to youth or most importantly, lending a listening ear — the possibilities are endless.
To begin the process, please stop by the Clubhouse location where you’d like to volunteer and pick up a volunteer’s application. Clubs are open Monday-Friday from 11am to 6pm. Once complete, please return your application to the Clubhouse and you will be contacted by the Unit Director once your application is approved.
Thanks so much and most importantly, Thanks for making a difference.
