About Us
Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Mississippi
Mission
To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as responsible, productive, and caring citizens.
Who We Are
Since 1954, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi have served our community’s youth ages 6–18 year-round, providing a safe place to go after school and during the summer.
Today, our Clubs continue to provide high-quality programs that support the social, physical, and educational needs of kids across Northeast Mississippi.
The Difference We Are Making
The average GPA of members of Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Mississippi is 3.0. Our “Power Hour” studies show that the hours immediately after school are a critical time for youth. Our supervised “Making Minutes Count” program helps members choose safe, positive, and productive ways to spend their time.
Youth without quality after-school programs during these hours are far more likely to:
- Become a victim of a violent crime
- Use alcohol, drugs, and tobacco
- Receive poor grades and drop out of school
- Become teen parents
Programs & Opportunities
Members take part in unique opportunities such as art classes, gardening and culinary courses, professional ballroom dance classes, Cal Ripken athletic camps, theatre camps, and field trips they otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience.
